THE WEST MIDLANDS DIRECTORY OF CHILDREN'S SERVICES NETWORKS
To map all groups and networks which support improvement in services for children & young people across the West Midlands region.
Definitions:
‘Groups and Networks’ – these are formal groups which support improvement in children’s services and could include: development groups, action learning sets, companies, boards, steering groups, etc and will include the public, private and voluntary sector. Groups could be time bound (task and finish) or ongoing.
‘West Midlands region’ – the report will focus on regional and sub-regional groups, but NOT Local Authority or locality specific or national groups.
Purpose:
The final report will map regional activity around improvement in services for children and young people and will facilitate links, identify overlaps and spot gaps between groups working to this purpose.
DCSs will be able to use this report to reference against their list of local priorities emerging from the recent Priorities Meetings to gain an accurate picture of activity in these areas. They may also use the information in formulating their Local Improvement Support Plans.
The report may also be useful at a later stage for the proposed Regional Improvement Support Plan and Children’s Forum.
The report will be available to all its contributors to facilitate networking and sharing of good practice between groups.
