The Management Consortium
The WMRP Management Consortium (WMRPMC) consisted of:
- The Chair - a Director of Children’s Services nominated by the West Midlands ADECS
- The Assistant Director/Head of Service with strategic and financial responsibility for vulnerable children from each of the 14 constituent Local Authorities
- The Regional Facilitators
- One representative from each of the following (nominated by);
- Government Office for the West Midlands
- The WM Strategic Health Authority
- WM Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
- Voluntary sector (NCH)
- West Midlands Parent Partnership Network
- University of Birmingham
- National Association of Special Schools (NASS)
- West Midlands Regional Learning and Skills Council
- Regional Lead for the Youth Justice Board
The Management Consortium also co-opted additional members e.g. Inspectorate, DCSF SEN Adviser to reflect the requirements of national and local agendas.
The Management Consortium was supported by the DCSF, through the National Adviser to the Regional Partnerships.
The Management Consortium steered the work of the WMRP and oversaw and monitored progress of the regional working groups.
Additionally the WMRPMC role was to:
- establish regional groups on specific areas of work which will report no less than 6 monthly to the Management Consortium on their work programme
- additionally commission time limited task groups as appropriate
- plan an annual standing conference to which all stakeholders are invited
- meet at least quarterly
