Statement Writers

This group consists of managers and staff from the West Midlands LAs who are concerned with the statutory assessment process. The group meets 3 times a year. A contribution to the Reducing Bureaucracy in Annual Reviews case study carried out by the DfES has been made, resulting in guidance being adopted by the West Midlands LAs. The group is interested in reducing regional variations in practice and, where possible, produces regional guidance on a number of topics of concern about the statutory assessment process.
